Local patch: found this female BLUE ROCK THRUSH in the garden today. Actually the sighting is quite exceptional, because this is no kind of ordinary garden bird. Needles to say it's the first time I see it here. The bird was probably on migration, going to its breeding grounds and stopped in the gardens to take a break. Actually the weather doesn't help that much - we're having north-east winds and constant rain for quite a while now. Yesterday also the year's first Swallow for the patch was seen migrating NW. There's an increase in Robins and Blackcaps in the gardens and quite a few Black Redstarts around.
