SARDINIAN WARBLER in the garden

Local patch: this morning a "first for the garden" delighted me as I was leaving the house. A Sardinian Warbler called twice from a laurel bush, before flying off to another garden. It gave me just few seconds to realise what I was hearing. The species is found in some southerly-exposed patches of scrub around Monte Grisa and some nearby areas, where it breeds. In winter some birds wander around a bit, but it's still amazing to find them so low, into the urbanized areas.
