In the afternoon I made a quick visit to the karstic doline (sinkhole) of Perčedol near Opicina (TS). The most interesting sight was perhaps an ice-skating man in the local pond! I don't know how thick the ice was, but I hope quite a bit, for him ;-)
A Black Woodpecker, was calling along with some very territorial Great Spotted Woodpeckers (drumming, flying around, chasing each other...at least 7 different birds) and a Green Woodpecker. Other usual woodland birds included: Marsh Tit, Nuthatch, Short-toed Treecreeper, Goldcrest and one Hawfinch (feeding on Cedars' cones).
